Fruit Picking Summer 2010

ِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيمِ
السلام عليكم

oke...so, along dan kak nazirah dah balik malaysia. for good! maybe along's coming back end of this year, who knows...but that;s the case with my beloved sis nazirah. hmm..
funny, u know.

i got back from my 10 days of holiday with family on tuesday..the next day, wednesday, along, anip, myself, kak nazirah, her sis kak basyirah (from Ann Arbor, Michigan) and wan went fruit picking somewhere. the journey took us an hour, down south.

mmg best lah. actually, to go fruit picking was kak nazirah's last wish before she left. she wanted to go so badly because she wanted to gave those fruits as a souvenir to her family..especially to her lil, Muaz and sis, Shahida..

the farm was amaaaaaazing, subhanalllah. it was pretty hot when we arrived (oh yeah, we packed ourselves wih loads of food...the plan was to have a picnic there too). the fee was $5 each person and the farmer lady gave us some direction..apparently there wasnt going be much fruits. oh noh...and the apples, there were going to be any until september! aiyyoyo..

we tried our luck anyway and each of us grabbed a green bucket. and subhanallah, there were plenty of fruits!!!! the first few lanes weren't promising, but as we went further ahead, i just knew it was kak nazirah's rezqi :) we had black berries, rasberries, sour berries and peaches! the best one ever...oh ye, almost forgot. kak chiaq joined us too. hehe. anak sulong ustaz. we rode in our oddessey. so, the seats were all filled :)
we started around 4.30pm and supposedly to finish at 6pm. as we were picking frantically, we bumped into this old man who was on this truck. he said hi...:) apparently he was the owner of the land. we talked for a bit and speaking abt old folks, he offered along some tabacco. haha. it wasn't in the cigar form..it was more like sireh, if you will. entah la. something like that.

5.30pm, as the buckets filled up, for the sake of buat syarat, we stopped by at the veggies area. to my surprise, we all had more fun there than in the fruits area. lol. the boys had decided to take off because they got so disgusting. lol. all muddy, sweaty and whatnot..why? perhaps they had too much fun with the fruits. you'll know wat i mean when you check out the pics....

the girls however, still wanted to get some veggies for umi, anty sara (where we'll be heading next) and mama. we had some rough times picking the cabbage that we had to wrestle our lives. nevertheless, all 4 of us were taken down by the cabbage. haha. one time, we pulled of a plant all together with its roots which we were not really supposed to do. it marred the land. uhuh. oohh we ruled the farm by the way, just so you know. hehe. it was literally just the 7 of us in one massive land. jadi kami pon buat macam dusun datok kami sendiri lah.

15mins to go, we realised that for our benefits, some spade (which i called sudip..haha. hancus bahase melayuku) and some gardening tools. heeeeeeeerrhhhh..........sabar je lah. shoudl've used that to pick the vegs. i picking up some onions (besar gedabak), peppers and cauliflower. we found carrots too! skinny ones. but trust me, it wasn't so easy picking them..

so, today, mama buat tomyam dgn cauliflower tu...and 2 days ago, mama masak lauk sayur..yum2.

2 days after that, nadia, kak chiaq, myself sent kak nazirah and kak basyirah ke midway airport. 2 hours to get thereee thanks to the traffics! uncle rahman hantarkn...of course, we were running late and the goodbye was more like menghalau dia. hehe. "pergi cepat...pergi cepattt!" lol...instead of the teary-sad one. so, it's good ;) didnt get too emotional there as i imagined the scenario might have been.

Salam perjuangan, sis...a goodbye simply means, i'll be missing you and till we meet next time, inshaAllah. moga pertemuan kita yg singkat itu diberkati Allah..ukhuwwah fisabilillah :)
