Matt and Glyniss visit in Pulau Pinang

1st usrah meeting dgn adik2 BUDIMAN. Mereka sempoi2 belaka...mujurlah :)

Dear Allah, please help us fill our free time with useful matters. Matters that will bring us closer to You, Your rahmah and barakah. Please make this Ramadhan one that is more meaningful than the past. Please use us (to the last of our force and might) to help others cling on Your rope.
Oh Allah, we realize the magnitude of our weaknesses. Help us surmount them and let them be the cause of our future successes. Please Allah give me the will and time to finish my books!

I realized that this break, I've time quite a lot of time with teenagers. I realized that it's a responsibility of us to get connected to these folks because of our age. Simply that. There's a reason why we're in our twenties. To look young and be young to truly get connected with the young.

With all seriousness, I try to pay heed of what is phenomenally hitting the teenagers so that I could keep up. Boy...don't I sound like a makcik.

Saya teringat kata2 ustazah yang ajar kanak2 kat Loughborough dulu mengaji . Dia rajin melayan kerenah kanak2 walaupun nakal, siap bagi ais-krim lagi. Katanya, "Kita kenalah selami jiwa mereka". Kata2 tu betul2 melekat kat lubuk hatiku sampai harini. It sounded like cliche but when I really think about it, it means exactly what it says. Selami jiwa mereka. That means, we need to go farther and deeper in order to understand the ocean. The shore is not enough to let us know what the ocean is like. Because ocean is more than its surface. So we to have to dive in and get ourselves wet.

Adolescence is a one of the most critical time of growing up. You're still figuring yourself, which group you want to belong to etc. But the sooner they get the realization, the sooner they get it all figured out. The price to pay for it is experience. Maybe they're lack of experience...or is it guidance?

It's funny how the world operates nowadays. Today's perception of teenagers is that they are  irresponsible, all about entertainment and indolent. Berbeza dengan pemimpin2 kita pada sewaktu dahulu. Muhammad al-Fatih takluk Konstantinopal pada usia 21 tahun. That makes me feel like I'm a big baby.

Why have them as our future leaders when we can have them as leaders now.
